Staff Geologist

Main Responsibilities & Activities:

Prepare and make prospect presentations for management recommendations along with executing upon drilling programs from an operational and planning perspective

Develop growth opportunities through land acquisition and exploration

Support development programs and asset evaluations for acquisition and divestment in conjunction with the A&D evaluation group

Initiate studies including stratigraphic controls and structural elements and integrate appropriate geologic data to fully develop prospect concepts and justification

Develop drillable prospects that can be added to the drilling program as soon as they are acquired

Support prospect evaluation work by providing validation of pre-existing interpretations and play concepts as well as creating new interpretations (i.e. depositional environment models, type logs, structure maps, isopach maps, cross sections, qualitative well log/mud log/core analysis, annotated bubble maps, etc.)

Manage and coordinate geological well site reporting and monitoring

Bachelor's degree in Geology is required

US professional geologist designation

Minimum of 2 years of geological and oil & gas experience specific to the US Rockies basins

Exploration and development mapping skills are required

Have a working knowledge of basic engineering techniques and applications specific to drilling, completions, reservoir and exploitation methods

Horizontal drilling program supervision and project management skills are essential

Strong computer skills with proficiency in: Microsoft Office applications, Petra, or equivalent

Strong presentation skills are essential Must be enthusiastic and highly self-motivated

Must be detail-oriented and able to work as a team player in a dynamic fast paced multidisciplinary environment

Excellent communication, analytical, organizational and time management skills are required

Team player who enjoys learning and contributing to team goals
